When Anna, co-owner of Edinburgh’s iconic Green Room, reached out to us, it was clear that we had a story on our hands.

The bar has become one of the first in the country to leverage the newly implemented Scottish Pubs Code, a landmark piece of legislation that grants tied pubs the freedom to stock beers of their own choosing.

This move is a total game changer for pubs and bars; it's allowed The Green Room to not only curate a bespoke tap list, but it has also enabled them to slash prices for customers by up to 25%. For many local spots, this code represents a vital lifeline, and we knew we had to tell that story in a way that resonated far beyond the hospitality industry.

To bring this story to life, we worked closely with the team at The Green Room to capture the spirit of the bar and translate complex legislative changes into a compelling narrative for both landlords and locals.

The strategy was a resounding success, securing widespread coverage across national, regional, business, and trade press. By highlighting the tangible benefits (better selection of beer and lower prices) we’ve helped shine a light on a new era for the Scottish pub trade.

We are incredibly proud of the results and can’t wait to raise a glass at The Green Room’s 'Freedom Party' on February 11th. Long live the pub!
